January 1971, Kronen Zeitung: To Hollywood on a motorbike
The young painter Jean Pierre von Baksa is a travelling adventurer. Four years ago, he travelled the length and breadth of Europe and was delighted to be able to fund the rest of his journey by selling a painting. Now a successful artist with his own studio in Vienna, Baksa is setting off on another adventure. He plans to ride a mini-moped from the American East Coast to California. His wife’s main concern: “How are we going to fit all the luggage in?”
The young Hungarian painter J.P. von Baksa has been given a new nickname by his wife. Ever since the Albertina purchased a drawing from him entitled “Centrifugal Force on Judgement Day”, she has been calling him nothing but “Albertino”. Baksa celebrated the purchase of the drawing with a new exhibition at the “Sportsmen of Vienna” boutique. During the event, Baksa landed a hefty 30,000-schilling commission for a stained-glass window.
